It promises to be a warm weekend during the Siol Cup on June 21st and 22nd, 2025. We would like to inform you about the measures taken by the tournament committee in response to the expected heat. The health and safety of all participants is our top priority, which is why we will strictly follow the GHOR heat plan throughout the entire weekend.
Measures we are taking:
- There will be water breaks during the matches, as indicated by the referee.
- Each team will receive a bucket with sponges, which can be filled with water in the changing rooms, so players can cool down.
- Large water containers will be placed along the sidelines. We will circulate with a water tank to keep them filled (please note: this water is not drinkable).
- A swimming pool will be available for players to take a quick, refreshing dip.
- Where possible, matches scheduled on artificial turf will be moved to natural grass. You will be informed of any changes to pitch locations on the day itself.
- We will adhere to the GOHR official heat plan at all times.
What can you do yourself?
- Make sure everyone drinks enough water throughout the day!
- Ensure players apply sunscreen regularly.
- Bring an umbrella to create extra shade.
- Seek out shaded areas when not playing.
- A small tent for additional shade is allowed, but please consult the tournament office first about where it may be placed. Do not set up tents on your own initiative.
We look forward to a fantastic and sporting football weekend — and above all: the safety of all participants always comes first.
If you still have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
